We are excited to announce that Yael Gottlieb has joined the Institute for Sustainable Communities as Vice President of Development. Yael’s background in international nonprofit development, and lifetime commitment to supporting community-led efforts to combat economic and social challenges makes her exceptionally well-suited to oversee resource mobilization from private donors and institutional foundations, corporations, and governments. Yael has nearly 20 years of fundraising and communications experience for nonprofit organizations, with a focus on international human rights and social justice NGOs. As an executive leader, Yael specializes in building dynamic teams to execute strategic and fundraising campaign plans and achieving marketing and communications goals.
Prior to ISC, Yael was VP for Development and Communications at the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC). While there, Yael successfully oversaw IWHC’s significant budgetary growth, including a doubling of its income from individual contributors, and the launch of IWHC’s first digital marketing program. Prior to IWHC, Yael was the Senior Director for International Initiatives at Human Rights Watch (HRW), and has also worked for the American India Foundation, Action India, and the Maisha Foundation.
