The 360 Group is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Amber Mace as the inaugural Managing Director and Chief of Strategic Partnerships at the California Academy of Sciences. With over two decades of experience in leadership roles at the intersection of science and policy, Amber brings extensive knowledge and expertise in building collaborations and partnerships to tackle today’s most politically sensitive and technically complex issues.
Dr. Mace comes to the Academy from the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST), where she first served as Deputy Director, and then as CEO. During her tenure at CCST, she built a diverse and high-performing team to deliver scientific guidance to the state of California on important issues ranging from climate change to disaster resilience to energy policy. Additionally, she raised over $40 million for various CCST programs and revitalized its governance structure. Prior to CCST, she held roles at U.C. Davis, the California Natural Resources Agency, and the California Ocean Science Trust. Dr. Mace earned a BA in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley, a PhD in Ecology from the University of California, Davis, and a MBA from the Wharton School.
In her new role at the California Academy of Sciences, Dr. Mace will focus on implementing the “collaboration” element of the Academy’s mission to regenerate the natural world through science, learning, and collaboration. She will be responsible for forming and maintaining new regional, national, and international partnerships as well as overseeing initiatives in community engagement.
The 360 Group is proud to have partnered with the California Academy of Sciences in the search and selection process for this important leadership role. We look forward to witnessing Dr. Mace’s impact on ecosystem regeneration.
