It is with great pleasure that we announce that Katie Tamony has joined the leadership team of Social Interest Solutions as Chief Communications Officer. Social Interest Solutions combines thoughtful social policy with elegant technology solutions with the ultimate goal of ensuring economic, social and physical well-being for all people through simple, easy-to-use, innovative social tech solutions. This purpose-driven, non-profit organization puts the needs of its clients and the populations it serves at the center of its solutions, merging the practices of human-centered design and social policy development and advocacy.
Katie is a communications strategist with a passion for connecting people to resources and brands that can improve the quality of their lives. Her career has been fueled by her desire to help people live better lives in all the ways that they desire. Katie has a proven track record of revitalizing and transforming brands across the nonprofit and corporate sectors. For many years, she was a journalist and ultimately Editor-In-Chief for Sunset, blending business development with storytelling for the iconic magazine. At the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Katie overhauled all marketing and communications, unified messaging, broadened community access to the museum and its collections, inspired new audiences and programs and transformed the institution into the city’s beacon for creative thinking for all. More recently, as Chief Marketing Officer for Monrovia Growers, Katie transformed its brand and marketing strategy, creating a brand purpose and made it authentic to consumers and relevant both internally and externally.
At Social Interest Solutions, Katie is excited to apply her communications, strategy and marketing skills, extensive experience and passion for social purpose – in this case by connecting people through easy access to critical resources. We are proud of her selection, wish her the best of luck, and are excited to follow her journey.
